I started Brandensilva.com as an outlet for my portfolio work and as a way to creatively express myself through my blog and design creations. My design and networking skills started when I realized I had a geek backbone at the ripe age of 12. I quickly jumped into building computers, networking, and coding my first web applications as a youth. By the age of 16 I was self-taught web designer who tried showing other students and teachers how to harness the full power of Adobe Photoshop and many other creative tools. I was often praised as being an excellent and smart student — which has only propelled me to expand my education throughout the years to higher levels of achievement. After becoming a Microsoft Certified Network Administrator, and obtaining other geeky certifications along the way, I obtained my degree in Information Technology to expand my horizons and skill set.

My adventure has been a fun one but I know it’s not over yet until the fat lady sings. When I’m not passionately web designing, I’m exploring ways to become a better programmer by utilizing languages like Ruby, Rails, PHP, HAML, SASS, jQuery, HTML, and CSS. To this day I still have not met one person who has stretched himself thin by learning multiple skills and had a blast doing it.

I founded my company Valiant Designs in late 2009 during the recession as a means to an end from traditional business practices. I’ve decided to fully harness the power of social networking and the internet revolution to expand my business and make myself known within the designer and entrepreneur eco-system. I’m now starting to reveal my plans to conquer the ugly web wasteland one page at a time from my comfy office chair, while giving back to the design community through blogging and collaborating with many other talented internet connoisseurs.

When I’m not busy having fun working in my home office for clients or conjuring up my own projects, I spend my time learning new ways to understand and solve social and technical problems in hopes of paving a better future for newer generations. In the future I’d like to get more involved in robotics and automation to free people from mundane or mindless jobs because I’m confident advanced robotics will be the next major revolution since the birth of the computer and internet. I also like to get away from the digitalness by photographing nature, back packing the Utah mountains, biking around my community, and spending time with my amazing wife.
